Discomfort with padding
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Similar to another reviewer, I also have discomfort with a gel pad digging into my palm. But only on one of the hands do I have this discomfort. So maybe the golves aren’t consistently stiched. After about 10 lifts, I think the discomfort is starting to go away. I lifted with the 1250 Harbinger before using this 1205, and I never had any discomfort with the 1250. But the padding is not as strong and wore down on the 1250. Also on my 1250s, a hole developed where the thumb meets the palm. The 1205 padding is stronger and will last longer, but I think a hole will also develop on the 1205, because the padding doesn’t cover where the thumb meets the palm. If I had to choose again today, I’d just go with another 1250, and expect to buy new gloves every 6 months (I lift 3 to 5 times a week). Also, the wrist support is great on both the 1205 and the 1250.
Didn’t Quite Live Up to My Expectations
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The concept and construction of the gloves are great. However in practical use, the gloves fall short of my expectations. When weight training and doing certain pulling type exercises, the grip pads on the fingers dig into my hands and becomes so uncomfortable I can’t always complete my set. On the days I train back, I no longer even use the Big Grip II gloves, I go back to my old pair of gloves the Big Grip II gloves were meant to replace. I have used Harbinger gloves for years and this is the first pair that has been a disappointment. In retrospect, I should have just stuck with the Classic Harbinger wrist wrap gloves
Too bulky to lift with
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Go with the original Harbinger WristWrap gloves. These gloves have too much slippery, bulky rubber padding on the palm and fingers. When you attempt to pull weight towards your body these factors become impediments and compromise your grip. I used these for 1/2 a work out and had to give up on them and lift bare handed for the remainder of the day. I primarily use gloves to prevent callous palms.
